After her time in the “Shoe” she hopped over to become a Roo and earn a Masters Degree in Clarinet performance from The University of Missouri-Kansas City’s conservatory of Music, studying with Dr. Jane Carl.

Amanda has been teaching an active studio for more than 15 years. She is engaging and personable, and truly wants to know each of her students as individual people to better serve their musical needs. Amanda accepts students of all ages and musical abilities.

She is an advocate for helping students find more musical engagement to supplement their performance experiences. Her students have been accepted into many honor ensembles such as OMEA All State Band, Columbus Youth Symphonic Band, Junior Winds, and Honor Band weeks at The Ohio State University, and Capital University. Several of her past students are now Music Educators and Performers.

Amanda realized her dream of adding clarinet repair to her business in 2022. She is studying clarinet repair with Mr. Bruce Marking, former head tech at Buffet. She hopes by offering this to her students and the community at large, clarinetists can have less barriers to performing at their highest skill level.

When she isn’t teaching or doing repair work, Amanda spends her time with her Husband, daughter, and fur daughter. She enjoys practicing yoga, or relaxing with a good sci-fi novel or show. In good weather you can also often find her exploring one of the amazing metro parks in Columbus.
